With four trophies already secured from the MSBSL finals day, James Dew was eager to add a fifth but was fully aware that he had a tough hurdle to overcome against the talented Zack Richardson in the Denman Billiards Cup Final.
In the early stages both players were playing fluent billiards with Dew building breaks of 45 and 35, Richardson responding with a 65, 39 and 31. At the 400 mark it was anyone’s match until Dew broke away with breaks of 46 and 31 to move confidently over the finishing line 500- 424, the final was well marshalled by referee Kevin Myles.
This has been a remarkable season for Dew as in addition to his nap hand of titles, he is a member of the Hassocks A team that achieved the double by being Snooker League Champions and Harper Cup Winners.
